Introduction
-
Hanney Tennis Club was founded in 1988 to provide a friendly
and vibrant village club and a delightful place to play tennis
-
Activities include weekly Club Sessions (just turn up!)
on Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm and Sunday mornings from
10.00am to around midday - all year-round. Players of all
abilities are encouraged to attend Club sessions (juniors by
invitation) for social tennis with everyone mixing in together,
and also to join the annual summer tournament. Daytime groups
include a Ladies session on Wednesday afternoons at 2.00 pm and
an early 9-10am 'Cardio Tennis' session on Wednesday mornings
in term-time
-
A variety of teams currently compete in winter and summer
leagues and friendly matches are arranged against clubs
in the surrounding area
-
Individual and group coaching is available via our club coach
-
Younger members can benefit from coaching appropriate
to age including short tennis for the very young. Please
see the coaching section on the left. Also special summer
programmes, 'Road to Wimbledon' challenge and a family
oriented 'Adult/Junior' competition/barbecue
- contact us for details
-
Our effective floodlights enable members to play all
the year round. Tokens at £1 each can be purchased from
committee members. Each token gives twenty minutes of
lighting. We have an excellent clubhouse facility with
mains water and a toilet
-
We have a ball machine which may be used by adults for
short periods of private use
-
Affiliation to the LTA ensures the club receives a small
allocation of Wimbledon Tickets. Members may enter their
names into a draw if they would like the chance to purchase
some of these tickets
-
Membership to the club is through annual subscription.
